Normally, a compass, as separated to wrist watches , has a red tip which is for North and the end tip is for South. It is a common knowledge that a compass will point north but that is not usually the case. There are two norths that a compass will point, one for the magnetic north and the other one pointing at the true north. Knowing how to distinguish between the two is very important when using the compass because that will give you the directions that you needed. Although, there is a large force that diverting the red tip from true north to magnetic north because of the concentration of magnetism over the North Pole. While you are getting closer to the pole the compass will be more attracted to it. Familiarize yourself with the regular compass that you have because of the difference in designs with the one combined with fine watches by combining what you see and your knowledge. We all know that the sun rises on the east and sets at west. Knowing that you can say you have a bit of a start up of the direction. Remember, this is only an approximation of the east and the west. Line up your compass to know where north and south is. It is always good to know the general directions because this can help you a lot in many ways during your trip or when you are lost. Having a compass on mens watches is efficient because even if you have a GPS with you is a good remedy in case the battery of your GPS device drained. At least, you would not have to experience the frightening feeling of being lost through out your trip. A compass is a good solution in those cases. It does not need any battery to keep it running and functioning the way it should be. You just need to take it out and navigate. Bringing a separate compass packed inside your bag may seem troublesome if you actually need it already because you still need to dig into your bag. And if you can not remember where you placed it exactly you have to dig deeper or take all the things out of the bag.
